Get Involved
Volunteer
Volunteers have always been essential to the Centretown Community Food Centre’s ability to serve our neighbours. We have morning and afternoon teams of volunteers for each day the Food Centre is open. Morning teams prepare the food supplies, while afternoon teams greet and interview clients and give them access to the food. Volunteers are carefully trained and fully supported by their team leader, and our protocols and volunteer manual are reviewed regularly. We also welcome volunteers to serve on our Management Committee and to help with Church food drives. Those interested should use our contact page to inquire further.
Organize a Food Drive
The Centretown Community Food Centre welcomes food drives by individuals and organizations. All donations help us keep our costs down and allow us to spend our resources on perishable food items such as meat, margarine, bread, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as any staple item that we are short of. The most useful and needed items are canned vegetables, pasta and pasta sauce, tuna and small jars of peanut butter.
Deliveries to the Food Centre can be made from 9am to 3pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 9am to noon on Friday.
